PROBLEM with Betrayal at Krondor CD version.

Hello!
I downloaded the CD version from here, and I use it on DOSBox 0.74-3 and there is no CD audio in the game. I check in windows and I found audio files and I can listen to them, and I was able to listen them in DOSBox too with software called CDPLAYER. BUT if I turn in the CD Music in the Preferences in the game it becomes off stat if I reenter the Preferences. WHY? The CD audio exists in the CD image why the program does not use it???

How are you mounting the CD image of the game? In the DOSBox itself or through an external program?

1. Make a folder c:\game\bak
2. Place to this folder files:krondor.cue and krondor.bin
3. Run DosBox.
4. Mount image file:
imgmount d c:\game\bak\krondor.cue -t cdrom
5. Run commands
d:
install
c:
krondor
5. Turn on in Preferences switch 'CD Music'.

First I mount into Daemon Tools and through this into DOSBox...
then
...I use the same imgmount command, too! Without success!

I use it with Gen. MIDI or MT-32 (MUNT).

I made the "mistake" because I installed it with the partial installation and this caused the problem! I did a full install and the game starts with CD music!
BUT
If I set it to Soundblaster in the setup then the program does not start at all! The SB/Adlib works! But I think this must be a DOSBox error...

Try setting it to irq=5

 

Thanks! That was the problem!
But I found really strange this whole thing, I mean the 'Partial' installation causes the CD audio doesn't work and there is not an "advanced" config editor in the install to set up your config correctly!

1 more thing!
I have an other Betrayal at Krondor FDD version (v1.0) and there is a SNDFONT folder what constains
KRONDOR.EXE
SX.OVL
SC-55.SF2 (45.1MB!!!)
FRP.SX
What is this good for? This krondor exe does not works (for me) not even in the main directory with all these files moved there.

These files are not included in the delivery of the game. Most likely, this is recording music using a synthesizer Roland Sound Canvas SC-55.

 

Thanks! Yes, I tried with CoolSoft VirtualMIDISynth in DOSBox and it much cooler than the MT32 BUT I downloaded another soundfont from a site and this UHD3 sounds much better than the other ones!
