The Watchmaker by Trecision

Hello

I am looking for an old adventure game The Watchmaker from Italian company Trecision. It has been made roughly in the same period Gabriel Knight 3 has been and is very similar in gameplay, puzzles and visual appearance.

I had the original cd (or three cds, can't remember now), as the game had been bundled with one of the paper magazines I had bought. I've looked for those cds recently everywhere, but they apparently got lost over the years

I've checked Pirate Bay, but the torrent link over there is old and not working

Is there any possibility Watchmaker will find its way into old-games.ru? It's properly old, properly oldschool, and forgotten to the point one can't really download or buy the original copy anywhere.

Well, I am, as a rule, sceptical about those suspicious file sharing links containing partitioned files.

Watchmaker isn't particularly vulnerable, in terms of possible lawsuit action against the site, so why not upload it? You host many much riskier games here.

 

What could be wrong with partitioned files?

This game has not been hosted on our site (yet) because it had been published officially in Russia. Maybe it will be hosted in the near future though.

 

Oh, so the publishing rights are the issue. Didn't know about it. I've considered old-games.ru sort of truly anarchy site, for years.

Maybe nothing is wrong, I'm just suspicious. I am a veteran of abandonware and retro sites, co-admining or at least providing help for them. And we never linked to file sharing sites, we always either hosted games ourselves or told straightforwardly that we can't host them, because there's trouble ahead.

It's ok, kreol, the link is probably valid and the game works, but Firedrop requires all this sign-up crap, that I am so tired about.

Why downloading something that is completely forgotten, no longer monetized by its creators, and will not be pursued by any party, from a suspicious, registration-requiring server.

@eMTe, Firedrop does not require sign-up! Just wait a few seconds, and press 'Download File'.

Ok, I've downloaded Watchmaker from the isozone.

Getting the game working is another thing (I still have XP and I'm not going anywhere), but Watchmaker has been tailored for XP, so I don't expect major trouble.

Well, I have installed the game and it seems to be working, but unfortunately I don't know (or have largely forgotten) how to bypass the "insert cd-rom" issue.

The download from isozone contains archive called iso, indeed, but the contents are not disk image.
